Which I get happens when youre busy at lunch.but it wasnt that busy. Same story when I wanted a refill on my drink. Eventually I just asked someone else for a pen. When they rung up my meal, she gave me a receipt to sign and walked away to do something else.no pen, no interest in collecting the receipt, I could have just left. It was clean and I liked the decor, but the wait staff seemed like they were all in a place other than serving the customer. Seriously though, this place is an atmosphere, it may appeal to you.it may not. The spirit of Portland is alive at nostalgia. Nothing on part of new owner for not wanting to deal with the DABCs constant bullshit.Because of the lack of downtown public establishments there can often be some odd folk-nothing for which to worry or cause any concern though. I wish they had just two or three more veggie offerings (veggie savory crepes) that were substantial enough to be considered a meal other than additional salads.ĭrawbacks: (not significant) should be open through 1 AM weekends!!! No longer serves 3.2% beer as previous owners did. The food is actually pretty good for what they offer. The speed of delivery helps make up for it. The coffee and espresso are good (3.5 out of 5) but not excellent. Without it the area would simply be a business district. The only reason this specific area can be considered a part of downtown is because of Nostalgia. Without Nostalgia where it is there would be a significant void in this area of downtown. Even so, there is not much in the couple block radius in terms of commercial establishments. The location is terrific, particularly for me being I work two blocks away. I would go so far as to recommend 1 AM, at least on weekends. The shop stays open until midnight which for SLC is very good. The owner is super friendly and truly cares for his customer-base. Today, the baristas are mostly seasoned pros. There was a time the turnover was quite which naturally led to slight decrease in quality and tone of the place.
